Alain is a Nantes-based self-taught photographer. He started his passion for black and white photography in the 1970s and especially loves the meetings with people that photography allows him. Part of his work is in Sub-Saharan Africa, where he has been travelling since the 1990s. “I take great pleasure in building pinhole and street-laboratory cameras like an Afghan Box”. Alain has organised numerous exhibitions and received awards such as the International Photography Award and the Werner Bischof Prize.
