George was born in Australia but lives and works as a professional photographer in Greece. His passion for some time has been antique photographic processes. He purchased a Box Camera in 2004 and had it restored and painted by the artist Alexandra Koukosia. The beautiful painted camera, which he named “Belle de Jour”, draws a lot of attention wherever he places it. “Photographing portraits with this camera not only captures moments in time, but also allows me to offer a unique interactive experience for the people who have to patiently participate and stay still for a few seconds. They are then allowed to watch their image develop in real time, while I get to practise my craft and test my artistic and technical flair with each image I shoot.”
