Guilherme Monteiro, is from Porto, a city in the north of Portugal. He studied Fine Arts and is currently working as scenographer and props technician at Teatro Nacional in Porto. His “à la minuta” photography project is called Wonder Box.
In 2016, after a lot of research, and a desire to create a laboratory box – a desire that existed in him since he was young. He built a first camera, which didn’t go very well according to him and a second one right after that that worked much better. It was inspired by the Afghan Box Camera Project.His camera is a mix between the European and Afghan camera versions. Since then he has been shooting portraits, giving workshops workshops and has been invited to events.
As he says,” It has been a very rewarding experience and the contact with people is wonderful.”
