Iris started taking black and white film photographs at a photo club when she was 11. She met Hans Zeeldieb working at the front of the Centre Pompidou with his Afghan Box Camera in 2012 and was intrigued by the process, but it took her another four years before she built her own. For two years she has travelled around and worked with the camera at different festivals. “Thanks to the Afghan Box Camera I regained my smile, my joy in life and with it I created my place in the world.”
