JEFFREY LIM / Malaysia

Jeffrey is something of a Box Camera maverick. He used pinhole cameras and Brownies 20 years ago and was inspired by ABCP to build his own version of Box Cameras, which he calls Kanta Box Kamra (‘kanta’ means ‘lens’ in Malay). Since 2012, he has built an array of cameras, often from recycled materials, with specialised paper-loading systems and new developing and enlarging techniques. His cameras are also light and extremely travel-friendly, being only 2kg in weight. His next aim is to build handheld Box Cameras out of industrial waste material.
